Recently I read the news that China is having issues in Beijing with a potential coronavirus second wave. Apparently, they canceled flights but I am not sure if that includes international flights, because when the pandemic started in Wuhan they only canceled local flights, not international ones.
I also think people are getting more relaxed with the preventive measures and that could help a potential second wave.
Going back to quarantine doesn't sound like a realistic solution, so I hope the cure/vaccines are developed very quickly, and let's hope there is no second wave. Although as far as I know, the high-risk period is in the winter, not in the summer. At least in the West.
What do you think? Will there be a coronavirus second wave?
I think a second wave of the virus is unquestioned - what is up in the air is how much people will go full-lockdown next time. I'm thinking not. China, Thailand (where I am) and so many countries are already on their knees financially, and the track & trace seems inevitable.
International flights? Hmmm???
Yeah, I'm sure there will be a second wave, probably in the northern winter. The virus seems to dislike hot and humid summers. It does propagate in tropical countries during the dry season or where all public buildings have airconditioning.
Is there a reason to expect a second wave to start in China again? China is now reacting strongly to numbers that would be considered a normal day in Western Europe.
A cure for any disease is a rarity, but a treatment for Covid-19 looks to be within reach before a vaccine is available. Testing a vaccine takes a year and a half at best. You can't cut corners when you want to inject billions of people. Although this seems to be a controversial opinion here, doctors really don't want to poison whole populations. And it will probably be like the flue vaccine that needs to change every year and offers only a few months of immunity.
The first wave does not come to the peak in India, hopefully we will not see a second wave and almost 60% of India's population will be affected by first wave itself.
yes 100%
it depends on what you mean "second wave" In my country we are suppose to be ok with all the virus, the first wave is cleared and everything opened again. Still each day we have cases... Also, we got more cases than the media say....
My thoughts are that they opened everything cause of the economy, otherwise many businesses would be bankrupt and during the winter if this is keep going one, we are gonna witness smaller lockdowns
100% chances
