RE: Ask the Hive: is your country past the peak of the coronavirus pandemic yet?

in Ask the Hive • 5 years ago

Here in the Philippines I don't think we are past the peak of the coronavirus yet. Just three days ago, June 23, it has reported its highest case of 1,143. 😢 Yet the government is opening the borders, sending Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) to their respective provinces, and with that the virus spreads throughout the country.

In the initial phase of the lockdown, our city has zero case. But when the LSI were permitted to return home, the case spiked to over 400 in two weeks time! 😢 All from those who went home. Now, quarantine facilities are full, that the local government requested the national government to temporarily suspend sending those LSI home. 😭

It's quite a difficult situation. Persons over 60 years old and children under 20 years old are still not yet allowed to go to public places; they are basically home quarantined 24/7. 😢 Some shops are allowed to open now but only those that sell essentials.

Wow, I didn´t know it´s so bad in the Philippines :( Sounds like you guys are still for some tough quarantine times :( Stay strong and healthy.

Yes, I think it will still be a loooooong way for us. 😢 Third world countries suffers the most. Many people here don't have enough to eat because they lost their job. 😢
