What's the thing that you thought you didn't need but is actually very useful?

Did you buy something maybe because it was on sale or you just thought "meh ok I guess I can" and then you realized that it actually is life-changing to you? Then you wonder why you haven't bought it before?

Mine would be a pressure washer.

Living in a country with dry and rainy season, it's so common to see fences or outside walls to have moss or dried up dirt develop especially if you don't maintain it regularly. A lot of those dirt can stick to walls and will get hard af for some reason and now you will need extra power and time to scrub them off.

I always thought yeah maybe they just scrub them with soap or chemicals which works too but sometimes it doesn't.

Then I found out about pressure washers... and also thought yeah they might be too expensive. Well, apparently not nowadays. :D

I recently purchased a pressure washer on a discount for about $50. I didn't expect them to be affordable like this but it's also from a reputable local brand so I decided to get on with it. Then I tried it for the first time... and it's so mindblowing how easy it is to clear up the dirt especially on bricks.

I was even planning on spending my days scrubbing outside with chemicals cos I'm so tired of seeing the outside being dirty lol but with a washer that work is lessened greatly.

Just a con though is that it's so freaking loud. I feel like I'm disturbing my neighbors using a power tool haha but then again we heard construction noises for 2 years here so I guess they should be forgiving of that. Or maybe it's just me who thinks it's too loud and they're fine with it.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying it and gone are the days that I will block the tip of the hose to create that pressure lol but it is definitely life-changing for me. I haven't finished cleaning the whole area yet since we are also changing stuff inside the house too but I am enjoying it currently. Watching all those dirt, moss, grime, and whatever just get washed off by the washer is so satisfying.

What about you? Did you get anything recently that made your life better or made things a lot easier?

It doesn't have to be a purchase. It could be a thing someone gave to you that you didn't try or kept away for some reason then realized you should've looked into it more. Or a habit you thought is not needed but changes everything or something?

Sort:

Oh yeah, I bought a bluetooth headset and now I can listen to songs while I'm in the loo 😂. I can just keep the phone in my room and do my thing. It was initially bought just for gaming purposes. Didn't knew that it would be this convenient xD.

An application to use track my income and expenses...

At first I doubted it's need...
Now I can see just how much is going where and why...

Jist after a month I can see how helpful it is...

Definitely yes, it is not an object as such, it is an application that allows me to buy most things including food for the house and restaurants in a financed way and without any interest in between.

A few days ago I had been left without a laptop, the feeling was horrible, and with the application I'm talking about I was able to buy a PC to continue working and it covers half of the product in financing.

I can finally make purchases for the house of everything I need and not worry so much about the payments in portions that companies here usually pay their employees (it's horrible), but having an app that allows me to pay every 15 days installments this becomes rather a huge advantage.

Ohhh that is so cool and glad to hear there are no crazy interests that take advantage of their users. We have a lot of those similar loan and installment apps and they're so predatory af and even gets to the point of harassing your contacts and letting everyone know that you haven't paid yet.

Sorry to hear the situation there is still bad and glad you're able to find and use this app.

Did you get anything recently that made your life better or made things a lot easier?

For a long time we were using water from the well. Recently we finally listened to our best neighbour and started using water from city's water supplier. In a long run this should be a life changer and save us some money. Filling the well costed 50 eur each time but the last straw was when around a month ago we filled the well again and the water was gone in three days. We can't efford to fill the well every 3 days so we joined city's water supplier.

Damn I can't imagine having a well these days. I also never heard of it as an option haha I thought the government will just install it or somehow force you to. And also filling that well sounds quite expensive. How long does it normally last?

Around a month. Not long but still better than 3 damn days...

Yeah 3 days sounds like there's a leakage somewhere. :<

I wanted to buy an iPad to watch movies lying in bed, and sometimes, I wanted to learn digital drawing, which could be easier with the iPad. But I bought a new laptop for $1150, and it is much more enjoyable to watch movies on a big screen with excellent resolution, though sometimes I feel the iPad could be more comfortable at some points. May be later I will go for the iPad as I found many cheaper old ones in the second hand market!

An iPad indeed is a great option for portability and drawing. Procreate is so good that professionals use that as well. You can also buy an inexpensive drawing tablet too so you can draw with the laptop and that's also a great option while waiting for an iPad :D

i never used a pressure washer 😄

the thing i thought was useless then i used it a lot is the blender, i was like, we don't need that,it's totally useless, but then i started to use it not every day but quite often to cook

They are so fun haha although quite intimidating at first cos it's powerful but makes you feel like a badass cos it feels like a flamethrower in my hands. XD

Ohh blenders are cool like that too. I never used it for that purpose but I saw a lot of videos of them using that to blend something especially if it's for soup or baking. Very useful indeed. :D

hahaha the flamethrower image is very funny in my mind

yep for soup its excellent, lot of noise but oh well
