Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to talk about how the temperature changes are welcome in terms of bills!

Energy Free Periods

The seasonal changes are really nice depending where you live!

Where I am living now, and where I grew up, we have very similar weather patterns. I don't live THAT far away from where I grew up, but certainly far enough away where the weather is a little different.

This time of year, as well as the fall, are one of my favorites as a home owner.. the time of year where we have to use NO HEAT and NO AIR CONDITIONING! Man, the things that we look forward to as we get older?! I'll take it haha.

It's for sure that time of year where the nights are a little on the chilly side and the day time is a little on the warmer. This means that the house fluctuates in temperature throughout the day. Sure we could turn the heat on if it's cold in the morning, but I am more inclined to just put more fucking clothes on than I would be to turn the heat on and spend energy. I think that's such an important mindset to have! If the temperature is uncomfortable, instead of turning to the utilities figure out what you can do to fix it yourself. That may not always be possible, but there are plenty of times where it is!

This time of year is for sure nice because those heating bills or increased electricity bills are not an issue. If it's cold, put more clothes on. If you know that the day is going to start out colder but then end up warmer later on, open those windows during the morning! That way the nice cool and clean air flows right in, and you can get the temperature down ahead of the afternoon temperature rise. That's one of the things I've been doing and it's worked out pretty well.

Now I know that not everyone has the luxury of heat or AC but thankfully that is something we've got an abundance of, so I am completely appreciative of the privilege that I've got to have those things. Those things for sure come at a cost, and those costs can add up rather quickly!

I think one of the other nice things about this time of year, compared to the fall, is that the days start out really cold and they warm up to really comfortable. After getting through a long and cold winter, those temperature changes don't affect you as much. When it is in the autumn, those temperature changes are a little more pronounced because we are used to nice hot weather with the summertime ending. A bit of a flip to that script so to speak!

At the same time though, I am for sure looking forward to when it gets nice and warm out and we need to turn on the AC. The hot weather is really enjoyable and I can certainly enjoy some nice time in the sun!

Spring and Fall are usually so awesome. We can go weeks without needing to run the heat or A C.

Yeah! I don't want to jinx it.. but I haven't had my heat on since February! I just put more clothes on and bake something in the oven. Also with the family, there's almost daily laundry so the dryer is always going bringing in some decent heat.

It's a funny thing to enjoy as an adult lol

We are only two people and I feel like we are always doing laundry too!

Those are brilliant ways to cut down the cost! I hope others read this and share in your knowledge, hehe.

Yeah for sure! Costs are crazy these days it's important to have ways to reduce them in any way!

I agree!

It's now that I notice or rather acknowledge that it's usually cold on the morning then as the day goes by it starts getting warmer until dusk and the it gradually begins to get cold again. I personally prefer this type of season, like having a bit of both heat and cold, almost in equal measure.

Yeah it's refreshing to have that for sure! I do like when it's a nice warm night out, so you can spend time outside but I do love sleeping in the cold weather more than the warm lol

Same here, prefer winter much more than summer. The heat can be really hard on the system, plunging it into chaos lol.
