RE: I Preferred Paper

in The Man Cavelast month

Hmm, "unfortunately", it's phones and tech for me. I just feel that there's so much updated information I can get from my phone, especially social media, the latest news, the latest trends, etc. Where the nature of books is that the information is outdated because it's at the time of writing/publishing, especially for non fiction. But I do need to cut down on my screen time and get some fresh air and that's work in progress. Hehe.

Well yes and no. With this non-fiction book it was health related and yes you might be able to get the information contained in the book in peer reviewed articles and stuff but the content was well researched and specific. It was basically taking someone's life work and digesting it into a book. They go all over the place and sure, it could be 15 peer reviewed things but I don't really want to read that when I can read this guys experience with it, how he uses it and what it does to benefit his patients and people around him. It was an easier way to spend a few hours in an airport.

When I'm at home, I do prefer the papers because I have more time to pay attention and I don't need my self awareness to be as incredibly high and on-edge as it is in an airport.

So I agree but disagree with you there :D

I see where you are coming from too. Always interesting to hear different perspectives, that's perfectly ok! :)
