What's upHappy 1 Year Hive Anniversary to me! It’s been a really exciting 1 year to be honest. I’m quite happy I joined hive ; ) PS: thanks to @hivebuzz for notifying me, otherwise I would have forgotten, I even forget my birthday sometimes lol.
For the prompt, I wanted to try painting on photoshop with a Wacom, and it was really cool. It felt like I was painting on canvas. I’m yet to find a brush that works this way for procreate yet, so maybe I’ll export the ones on photoshop. After painting digitally, I went on to pick my watercolor for the 3rd hairstyle. Using both mediums to interpret the prompt was really fun!
Now back to my hive birthday! Originally I joined both steem and hive a year ago from today, but the engagement on steeem was quite discouraging, and for me as an artist, one of my goals is to impact people through my art in whatever way I can, so like Jesus said to his disciples in the Bible, if you’re not welcome somewhere, you shake the dust from your feet and move on elsewhere.
That’s what I did. I made it a goal to be consistent with creating art and sharing it here. In as much as a few people say one should take nice words lightly and not let it get to you. These little comments and words of encouragement go a long way to push one further. So I’ll like to say thank you to everyone who interacted one way or the other with my posts, it means a lot. I’ve also been able to make a few acquaintances on here too!
One thing I’m thankful for is the earnings on Hive also, when I was really sick and was short of funds, and the medical tests I had to do were really expensive, what I’d earned on here was really really helpful .
As someone who looooves learning new stuff, Hive has been useful in that regard. I’ve been able to learn more about new places, food, art types I didn’t know existed, and more on crypto/ finance also. I find reading people’s creative blogs so entertaining and enlightening; )
There’s many things I’m thankful for, but one last one is how much I’ve improved as an artist. These days, I’m more likely to practice new things easily, be more consistent and also attempt new styles and projects with an open mind.
