Yay! We made it to the last prompt! The story of the Garden of Eden was a perfect fit for both of the prompts so I combined it into telling a story with one illustration. For the drawing style, I got inspired by the art style used for a children’s book in a Kdrama; It’s Okay Not To Be Okay. I adored how expressive the illustrations were
Here, Eve struggles between the decision of taking the apple as adviced by the slithering snake or listening to the instruction given by God. I guess we all know the choice she made, she took the risk. Who knows, maybe the story might have been different if she didn’t. Here it is!
Process!
I made use of the Royal Talens Indian ink, ink pens and my Sinoart sketchbook
I created a thumbnail of the idea before sketching. Next, I worked on inking the abstract forms in the background before the main characters. The ending points of each line were much darker/heavier than the rest of the line. This helps to give the illusion of mass.
I added shadows the the body of the characters before proceeding to paint the grass. Then, it was finished!
Close ups on the illustrations
With this year’s Inktober, I certainly learnt a lot and I can’t wait to apply the knowledge to future projects and series. I hope you’ll hang around to see; )
Happy New Month & Thank You For Viewing!
