Trying Out Different Styles

I am graduating from kiddie to grown-up ๐Ÿ™

If you are familiar with any of my previous posts, then you know that I have been focusing my talents on a "simpler" style, which could be described as a children's coloring book. This week I wanted to try out some different styles!

(A quick disclaimer: as always, I did not draw these pictures; only colored. Which, in and of itself takes talent as well. It takes talent to coordinate colors, practice shading, take shadows into account, etc. Everything was done using markers and pencil crayons ๐Ÿ–๏ธ)

So this is my style from earlier! This picture is from the coloring book, Creepy Kawaii (source: https://a.co/d/0IWu7K4)
This one was fun to do. I completed it during Christmastime (obviously ๐Ÿ˜„). I just really enjoyed the idea of a creepy Halloween theme sneaking its way into the festive holiday!

This second style is from a collection by Jasmine Becket-Griffith. She is an artist who is notorious for her chibi gothic art style (source: https://www.amazon.ca/Jasmine-Becket-Griffith-Halloween-Coloring-Book/dp/0738752541)

This second piece was called Cello Storm. Naturally, my mind first went to the rolling hills of Ireland, my home country ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช So I gave this a very "green" vibe ๐Ÿ˜‚ The woman's dress was the most difficult, time-consuming part, but I love the way it turned out -- like a can of Guinness. ๐Ÿ˜„ I also love the way the cat's eyes turned out completely soulless, as if the viewer can look right through her...

This piece was from a mermaid-themed book by Camilla d'Errico (source: https://www.amazon.ca/Pop-Manga-Mermaids-Other-Creatures/dp/0399582258). I originally completed this picture nearly 5 years ago, and it is still one of my favorite pieces today. Orange and green are one of the best color combinations, and I think her silver eyes compliments everything beautifully...

That is it for today's post! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out. Which style is your favorite so far? I am thinking of completing some more of the mermaid artwork (although sometimes it can get very time-consuming ๐Ÿ˜–). In the meantime, please enjoy your week!
