Man in the rain.

He stands under the downpour, thinking of all the things he wishes were diferent. Leting the rain wash away all the thoughts he cannot scape.

Él esta bajo lluvia, pensando en todas las cosas que desearía poder cambiar. Dejando que las gotas se lleven todos los pensamientos que no puede escapar.

Like usual, I start with a rough sketch.

Como es costumbre, comienzo con un bosquejo rustico.

I add some colors the character. For this one, I choose blue tones to fit the brown and emerald of the hair and eye of the young man.

Agrego algunos colores al personaje. Para este elegí tonos de azul que combinaran con el marrón y verde del cabello y el ojo del hombre.

Now I go for the real coloring, starting with the clothes, adding some shadows and lights, and smoothing things over with the blur tool.

Ahora voy con el coloreado real, comienzo con las ropas, agrego algunas sombras y luces, y las suavizo con la herramienta de suavizado.

Now I proced to do the same with the eye and the eyepatch. I pay extra attention to the details in the eye, the illumination near the nose bridge and the lips, and the shadows under the eye.

Ahora sigo haciendo lo mismo con el ojo y el parche. Pongo mucha atención a los detalles del ojo, la iluminación cerca de la nariz y de los labios, y de las sombras najo el ojo.

Now it’s time to draw the hair, I use a special brush to create an effect of hair strands, and different tones of brown.

Ahora es el turno de dibujar el cabello. Uso un pincel especial para crear la ilución de mechones, y diferentes tonos de marrón.

I continue doing the same thing with the other side.

Continúo haciendo lo mismo con el otro lado.

I draw a blurred background using a degraded tone of grey and blue.

Dibujo un fondo degradado y borroso en tonos de grises y azul.

I add some rain effect to it, using different positions. I end up with 4 versions in total. With this I’m able to create the illusion of falling drops.

Agrego algunos efectos de lluvia, uso diferentes posiciones. Al final termino teniendo 4 versiones en total. Con esto puedo crear la ilusión de gotas cayendo.

I do the same to the finished character, making it seem like some drops are falling on him and adding one to the hair strands on the right side of the characters face to make it seem like it's falling down.

Hago lo mismo al personaje terminado, haciendo ver como si algunas gotas estuvieran cayendo en él y agregando una a los cabellos de la derecha de la cara del personaje, como si cayera.

Then I put everything together and create a very simple animation.

Luego pongo todo junto para crear una animación simple.
