Art Journal: "Solitude by the Shore" | Coffee Painting β˜•πŸ–ŒοΈ

in Sketchbook β€’ last month (edited)

Hello, Hiver friends and art enthusiasts! How are you there? I hope you are having a wonderful day.

This striking coffee painting clearly captures a serene coastal scene. A solitary palm tree confidently leans toward a calm sea, where a small sailboat glides peacefully. The muted color palette, dominated by soft browns and grays, powerfully evokes a sense of tranquility and contemplation. Several birds soar through the hazy sky, reinforcing the peaceful atmosphere. I use of coffee adds a distinctive texture and depth, elevating the overall mood of the piece. The painting’s simplicity and evocative imagery make it an impactful and thought-provoking work of art.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Basic Procedure:
β€’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β€’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β€’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β€’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β€’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β€’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
