Hello, art enthusiasts! Iβm excited to present another artwork crafted with coffee powder. I am eager to hear your thoughts on it, as your feedback is always valuable.
This coffee painting of a sunset scene embodies more than just a visual; it is a powerful experience. The rich aroma of coffee, the vibrant colors of the sunset, and the unique texture of the painting work in harmony to create an immersive artwork. It stands as proof of the versatility of coffee as an artistic medium and the breathtaking beauty of natureβs twilight hour. I hope that this piece will resonate with you!
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
