Art Journal: "Sunset Serenade" | Coffee Painting โ˜•๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

in Sketchbook โ€ข 4 days ago

Hello, Hiver friends! I hope youโ€™re all having a wonderful day. Iโ€™m excited to share my latest coffee art that I just completed. Take a moment to check it out and let me know what you think!
This painting vividly captures a tranquil moment at the end of the day. Two palm trees stand boldly silhouetted against a large, pale moon or sun, creating a peaceful yet slightly mysterious atmosphere. The muted tones and soft brushstrokes convey a strong sense of calm and serenity. The single bird in flight introduces a dynamic element, enhancing the scene with a sense of movement amidst the stillness of the landscape. Itโ€™s a striking depiction of a tropical sunset, designed to invite viewers to pause and truly appreciate the simple beauty of nature.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐Ÿ‘‰ Pencil and Eraser
๐Ÿ‘‰ Coffee Powder
๐Ÿ‘‰ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Ruler
๐Ÿ‘‰ Clean Water
๐Ÿ‘‰ Rag
๐Ÿ‘‰ Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐Ÿ‘‰ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm

Basic Procedure:
โ€ข Outline or sketch your painting reference.
โ€ข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
โ€ข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โ€ข The same procedure with the foreground.
โ€ข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โ€ข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.

Painting Process:

This is the finished coffee painting.
