Hello, dear art enthusiasts! I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. I wanted to share a piece of art that I painted today. I would love for you to take a moment to look, and I really appreciate any thoughts youβd like to share.
The interplay of the warm sunset hue with the cool light of the supermoon is truly something special. It feels as though these two celestial bodies are engaged in a gentle dance, each showcasing its own unique and stunning beauty. The supermoon, in all its grandeur, seems to take center stage, filling the night with its awe-inspiring presence.
This celestial event is not just a feast for the eyes; itβs a reminder of the wondrous feelings that the universe can evoke within us. It invites us to pause, reflect, and embrace the beauty that surrounds us, even if just for a moment. The supermoon sunset is a fleeting treasure that lingers in our hearts long after the sun has dipped below the horizon and the moon slips from our view.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
