Painting Throwback

in Sketchbook9 months ago (edited)

Hey art fam! This artwork finished up on October 25, 2021, and thought I'd spill the tea on how it all came together.

So, I've been playing around with digital art for a while at that time, but I had this itch to mix my love for oil painting with the digital vibe, you know? I wanted to capture that oil-paint feel but give it a fresh spin in the digital way.

At first, I sketched out this idea of a glam lady in a dress chilling on grass, vines spilling around. But as I got into it, something felt missing. The leg was hiding under the dress, and it just looked kinda empty.

Then, I let the dress become shorter, changed the glass to a lotus, and added some lotus leaves and water. Darkened the background for the overall mood and added ripples to show what's going on in the girl's head. The lotus became the star, shining bright with a lil' glow-up. It's like finding beauty in the chaos.

This painting ain't my latest, but it's a journey. Tried to blend the oil feels with a story about loneliness and finding peace with a lotus. Hope you vibe with this one!
