Colibrí rufo

in Sketchbook3 years ago

Greetings, this beautiful bird is called Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus Rufus), it is a hummingbird that measures no more than 8 cm and is distributed around Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Bahamas, the Turks, and Caicos Islands. The male has a white chest, the face on the back and sides is rufous (this is how the natural colors are called reddish, blonde, etc.) and a nice iridescent throat patch, some of these have green spots on the crown. In contrast, the female parts are green with some white.
They feed on flower nectar using a long, extendable tongue or trap insects. These birds need to feed frequently while being active during the day and dormant at night to conserve energy.
