Hi, everybody!
Welcome back to emanate artworx. I hope your weekend is going well. This time, I want to share a landscape I painted, featuring a sunny pasture with yellow wildflowers and a cute little building. I used my beloved IbisPaint to create this. The reference picture was taken in 2022, near where I live.
Rural landscapes are always a captivating subject to me. I think it's because they make me imagine a world that's all in balance and order, where nature still rules, despite human interaction. Some people may find it boring or isolating, but I love the countryside 😍.
The digital sketch took about 2 hours altogether. I like to take my time. Starting with the sky and grass colors, I used a soft pastel brush to make everything in the scene, except the barbed wire in the foreground, which gave the mid and background an unfocused appearance, kind of like a photo. That actually wasn't my original intention, but I like the result.
I also created an acrylic painting of the same scene a few months ago. While I liked the premise, I didn't really love the end result! Making a digital version was inevitable, so I could tweak it and make more real-time changes (versus spending more time in the planning stage for a paint-on-canvas version).
My day job has been very demanding lately because it's the middle of summer, which is the busiest time of year in my line of work. So, for now, this scene will remain a sketch instead of a fully developed painting. In the future, I would definitely consider circling back around to this particular subject because the elements of it just really appeal to me.

Do you enjoy being in a rural setting? What kind of environments are you most comfortable in?
Thanks for reading! See you all on the next one.

Hey! This was a pretty cute drawing today OwO it looks so peaceful like that
Aww, thanks! There are so many scenes like this here. It's kind of plain, but also peaceful in its own way 😊.
Im leaning more towards the traditional one here. It looks very peaceful and vibrant and I think you captured the soul of the reference image in there. Definitely, digital is more flexible so Id love to see the finished version soon. Don't overwork Ema since you mentioned you are busy with your job lately. It will affect quality. Best to complete it when you are free and happy 😊.
Rural environments are peaceful but internet connection is bad there haha. My grandparents home is in the rural area and I gotta say, the people living there are very polite and welcoming and the air quality is amazing there 😍. Best part is that there is no noise, it's very peaceful.
Thank you so much for your kind words, my friend 😊. I'll make an update post whenever I complete this one on a new canvas.
As for the city vs. country, haha! Yeah, usually a bad internet connection. Aside from that, it's nice to slow down and relax, agreed. I drive through and around cities all day for work, and while I marvel at the architecture and engineering of the urban landscape, it doesn't match who I am.
Next time you see your grandparents, enjoy your time in the rural atmosphere!!
you are amazing. I love your process ❤👍 So beautiful ❤
That's so kind! I appreciate you and your support! 🧡

It's so nice to slow down and take in the sights and feels in the rural places 😌. Urban life is such a different energy.
Thank you so much, Jiji! 💖 Your words of encouragement are music to my ears...or eyes, rather (?).
I really liked your style and mostly your traditional artwork, canvas texture and good choice of color palette. PERPEKSYON! Chef Kiss HAHA great job ema I loved it.
Aww, thanks, Ish!! As you are also versed in trad + digi arts, I'm so glad you like it. 😁🧡
