Two months back I saw this Splinterlands card of ’Rage’ and I was blown away. At first I wondered how it was possible to have missed out on such a dramatic pose and character for about two years. I decided to make an art piece of it when I had the time since what I was going for was perfection.
Last week I embarked on this project and even stated it in the eventual Graphite post I used as an entry but I sadly wasn’t able to finish cooking because of the workload at the office.
I am grateful though that even with the workload this week I was able to come up with something I truly wanted to. I rearranged the physique on this Dragon totally to match that of ’Rage’ and extended the body and arms. I also added effects for drama and made sure have a realistic lineart.
Almost everything fell in place because of the well thought lineart but at some point it was disrupting my flow, still I went with it anyway.
Another thing I believe is worth mentioning is the fact that I did two backgrounds. One was to have a serene environment or village at the rare end another was to capture a burning or already burnt one. The second idea came last but I tend to favour it.
It was also after I had completed the everything and had uploaded it that I noticed he was on a treasure hoard and not a rock. I then quickly went back and added something to that regard.
The process....
