DRAWING A LITTLE GERMAN SHEPHERD - DIBUJANDO UN PEQUEÑO PASTOR ALEMAN [ENG-ESP]

Hello cartoonist friends but that you are very well, I had a commission this week in which I decided to set aside a few days to be able to do it very well. I was entrusted with the realization of the portrait of this beautiful German Shepherd puppy, I did the drawing on Fabriano paper using a mixed technique between colored pencils and acrylic paint. I put a lot of effort into the lines to make it very realistic and that the person who commissioned it was satisfied. Hope you like.

Hola amigos dibujantes pero que se encuentren muy bien, tuve un encargo esta semana en el cual decidí apartarme unos días para poder realizarlo muy bien. Me encomendaron la realización del retrato de este hermoso cachorro Pastor Alemán, el dibujo lo hice en papel fabriano utilizando una técnica mixta entre lápices de colores y pintura acrílica. Me esforcé mucho en los trazos para hacerlo bien realista y que la persona que me lo encargó quedara conforme. Espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I made the sketch carefully, unlike other drawings I made it almost imperceptible because if I sharpen the pencil a lot, when I have to erase the lines to add color, the trace left on the paper remains on the surface, so I made it very clear so that that would not happen.

Hice el boceto cuidadosamente, diferente a otros dibujos este lo hice casi imperceptible porque si afinco mucho el lápiz, cuando tenga que borrar las líneas para echar color, en la superficie queda el rastro marcado en el papel, así que lo hice muy claro para que no sucediera eso.

Since it is a pet, I started with the eyes as my starting point, although I do that with human faces, with pets it is different for me, the visualization of what I want from the drawing always starts for me from the eyes. This is how I start by painting the first eye and I leave that blank space that reflects the lighting, then the second eye and so I have completely where to continue drawing.

Como es una mascota comencé por los ojos como mi punto de partida, si bien hago eso con los rostros humanos, en las mascotas es diferente para mi, la visualización de lo que quiero del dibujo siempre comienza para mi desde los ojos. Así comienzo pintando el primer ojo y le voy dejando ese espacio en blanco que refleja la iluminación, seguidamente el segundo ojo y así tengo ya por completo por donde seguir dibujando.

Now I start to paint the fur using quick but short strokes, here I took my time to do it and as usual I did it in layers, a first layer to fill the whole drawing, then another layer to reinforce and the third layer to start giving volume. The puppy is ocher in color with black tips, and also black towards the center of the face.

Ahora comienzo a pintar el pelaje utilizando trazos rápidos pero cortos, aquí me tomé mi tiempo para hacerlo y como es costumbre lo hice por capas, una primera capa para rellenar todo el dibujo, luego otra capa para reforzar y la tercera capa para comenzar a dar volumen. El perrito es de color ocre con las puntas negras, y también de color negro hacia el centro de la cara.

I begin to add the other colors such as ocher in the fur that goes on the sides as well as in some areas of the ears. I make the strokes carefully to establish a clear contrast between the black and the ocher, without forgetting that the black color has light reflections, so I also use a gray scale that I lighten with a little white, especially near the edges. eyes.

Comienzo agregar los otros colores como el ocre en el pelaje que va en los laterales así tambien en algunas zonas de las orejas. Los trazos los hago con cuidado para establecer un claro contraste entre el color negro y el ocre, sin olvidar que el color negro tiene reflejos de luz, así que utilizo también una escala de grises que aclaro con un poco de blanco, especialmente cerca de los ojos.

Now the third layer of color, here I use a mixture of black and brown so that when blending, another tone comes out as a result. Playing with colors like this is one of the parts that I enjoy the most.

Ahora la tercera capa de color, aquí utilizo una mezcla de color negro y color cafe para que al momento de hacer el difuminado salga como resultado otro tono, jugar así con los colores es de las partes que mas disfruto.

Now my moment of magic, use the brush to blend, observe how the colors mix and volume appears in the puppy's fur. Little by little and taking my time I go over the brush to achieve this effect, and then apply more color since the blending allows the surface to remain suitable for further painting.

Ahora mi momento de magia, utilizar el pincel para difuminar, observen como se mezclan los colores y va apareciendo volumen en el pelaje del perrito. Poco a poco y tomándome mi tiempo voy pasando el pincel para lograr este efecto, para luego aplicar más color ya que el difuminado permite que la superficie siga siendo apta para seguir pintando.

Finally I am applying other colors, like a light brown at the tip of the fur on the chest and a little above the eyes. I use the white charcoal color for the illuminated parts like the eyes and also the nose. To finish, I use a smaller brush to blend all the fur on the chest and also the entire face, little by little and gently until the drawing is completely finished.

Por último voy aplicando otros colores, como un cafe claro en la punta del pelaje de la parte del pecho y un poco encima de los ojos. Utilizo el color carboncillo blanco para las partes iluminadas como los ojos y también la nariz. Para finalizar utilizo un pincel más pequeño para difuminar todo el pelaje del pecho y tambien todo el rostro, poco a poco y suavemente hasta finalizar por completo el dibujo.

FINAL WORK

This is how the portrait of this little friend was left, the truth is a very beautiful puppy, like all puppies. I worked two days on the drawing to do it well and without haste and I was very satisfied with the results. They had asked me to do it with acrylic paint but then they changed their mind, I would have loved to do it on canvas. Así quedo el retrato de este pequeño amiguito, la verdad es un cachorrito muy hermoso, como todos los perritos. Trabajé dos días en el dibujo para hacerlo bien y sin prisa y quedé muy conforme con los resultados. Me lo habían pedido con pintura acrílica pero luego cambiaron de opinión, me hubiera encantando hacerlo en un lienzo. De todas maneras me gustó el resultado, espero que a ustedes tambien, si así es no dejen comentar que les ha parecido.
