Gm everyone,

For those following my oil painting journey, you will know I've stated my fears for colored painting. That was why I started with monochrome. My previous oil painting happens to be in black and white and thats because its my comfort zone. I decided to leave my comfort zone by trying out colored painting and like I anticipated, it wasn't easy at all. My main problem lies with creating a good pallette with the right skin tone. I had to watch few YouTube videos and did some mixing myself. After a while I came up with one which in my opinion isn't good enough but it's something to start with. With that, I started the painting. At the beginning, it wasn't that hard cus I usually start from the eyes, then forehead after which I will work my way down.

Where I started encountering issues with the painting was when I got to the darker parts. My color was giving a way darker result and it wasn't blending with the other parts right. Had to tone down the darkness and started working my way through it.

In general, it was a challenging one compared to my previous paintings but I'm glad I did it. I've learnt quite a lot and thankfully, my artist friend already promised me he'd teach me how to mix the colors to get a good pallete and skin tones.

Amazing @gloriaolar, just amazing!

Thank you so much @fijimermaid 🥰

Its nice to see some "analog" painting?? I dont know whats the term and dont want to call it real painting since digital painting is also art but in my ignorant opinion about painting there is more difficulty to paint and create this way, looks really good

It's called "Traditional painting" 🥰🥰 and like you said, it can be more difficult compared to digital art though digital art ain't that easy either. I do both and I finish my digital paintings quicker.

I'm so glad you love the painting ☺️. Thank you so much for the comment🙏
