Good day friends @sketchbook community. Its your humble girl @happy080. Today I would like to share an art that I have worked on for quite some time now. I have been doubting if i should post it. I don't know for some reason, I just started doubting myself lately. Often times, art really helps me alot to keep a stable and positive mindset.
On this particular day, I felt gloomy. The children were out for sports, so I decided to walk into the art studio, with the full intention to work on a particular art. I had my sketchpad ready, my ball point pen flowing real well, my pencil sharpened and offcourse my plain white sheet handy. But immediately I settled down to draw, my mind shifted, It refused to follow the usual pattern. Instead of searching for reference images around the studio or even sketching the original plan I had in mind, my hands started moving instinctively, guided by a vision in my mind's eye, that I have never seen before. Gradually a woman emerged on the plain sheet. A bold and confident woman. Her sharp piercing eyes seems to possess wisdom. Her radiant and bold lips, held and spoke of a voice that could never be silenced. Her shaded long hair conveys genuine freedom.
Every stroke I made, every line I drew, and up to the shadings I added was not just a decision from an artist - I felt it was a message indeed, a reflection of something unknown.
This was not just a portrait display of artwork, It was a statement of self expression and confidence. The choker which is around her neck, the earrings, the inscription close to her collarbone symbolizes: Self Identity, Courage and the bravery of accepting one's own uniqueness.
At this point, I quickly realize one unique truth: art is not just about creating and drawing what we see; It is much deeper, it is about revealing what we actually feel in the inside.
That day in the studio, I actually went in feeling gloomy and all that but coming out after my drawings, I definitely felt a sense of calmness and happiness because I actually experienced a renewed belief in the power of a spontaneous inspiration.
