Sol... Girasol..." Y entonces pinte un Girasol.

Hello everyone, Hive friends. This time, the sun is slowly and painfully killing me with sunstroke, so I thought: "Sun... Sun... Sunflower..." And then I painted a Sunflower.

So we start with the base colors and some daubs on the layers that don't belong. My intention from the beginning of this painting is to denote a lighter side (above, where the Sunflower) and a darker side (below).

Then, the shadows go. For a novice like me, shading the Sunflower part, due to the number of tones and the closeness between them (It gets dirty) It was this part that cost me the most, however, I think it turned out well.

Then the lights go and it is here that I emphasize what I have never even mentioned and that is that there is something quite pleasant about illuminating transparency. I don't know, it's easy, and it always looks good. Particularly in the bottle, it is like killing two birds with one stone since you denote the volume and transparency. Fantabulous.

Furthermore, this is when I begin to ask myself: "How can I capture life in this work?" And this is when I notice the lighting of the petals, which seems to shine to the point of radiating. It was like a sun, and as I said at the beginning: "Sun, Sunflower."

Although as you can tell, the drawing process was somewhat bumpy, so I had to make a few corrections. Some subtle, and some big, like for example, the "crown" (Sorry, I don't know what that part is called) of the bottle did not denote enough transparency, so I added more blue in that part.

Also, at that moment I was more wet with sweat than a marathon runner fleeing for his life, so it occurred to me to add another detail to the sunflower: drops of water. This is when I start to imagine more things, like for example...

Let the background of the wall be the sky. Achieved using brushes that denote the texture of a wall, with a light, white color.

Y mis ultimos trabajos realmente me estan gustando mucho.

And finally, subtle crayon scratches under the flower that denote clouds, as if a child had drawn it.

It seems that I'm beginning to understand what it means for a painting to have life... And I'm really liking my latest works.
