I was listening the song "Breaking Out" by Nine Lashes and when I saw the cover I had the idea of drawing something similar, my idea was to make the silhouette of a person, paint like a galaxy inside it and around it all black.

But when I started the drawing it took another direction and ended very different from what I had imagined, although the final result I really liked it and the process challenged my skills and made me try and use new techniques and methods of coloring that I had not used before. I can only say that it was a great experience, with some difficulties, but in the end it was very helpful for me to improve.

Now I will show you part of the process of this drawing.

Estaba escuchando la canción "Breaking Out" de Nine Lashes y al ver la caratula tuve la idea de dibujar algo parecido, mi idea era hacer la silueta de una persona, pintar como una galaxia dentro de ella y alrededor todo negro.

Pero al comenzar el dibujo tomo otro rumbo y término muy diferente ha como lo había imaginado, aunque el resultado final me gustó mucho y el proceso desafío mis habilidades y me hizo probar y utilizar nuevas técnicas y formas de colorear que no había usado antes. Solo puedo decir que fue una gran experiencia, con algunas dificultades, pero que al final me fue de mucha ayuda para mejorar.

Ahora les mostrare parte del proceso de este dibujo.

1_ First the sketch, I took some photographs as a reference to give shape to my drawing, and I did it directly on the cardboard I was going to use. This cardboard was light gray and with many streaks, which made the coloring a little complicated at first, but then gave a unique effect to the final result.

Primero el boceto, tome de referencia algunas fotografías para darle forma a mi dibujo, y lo hice directamente en la cartulina que iba a usar. Esta cartulina era gris claro y con muchas vetas, lo que hizo que se complicara un poco el coloreado al principio, pero luego le dio un efecto único al resultado final.

2_ I started doing the skin shadows using black, dark brown, light brown and, although not very evident, some shades of purple and pink.

Comencé a hacer las sombras de la piel usando negro, marrón oscuro, marrón claro y, aunque no se nota mucho, algunos tonos de morado y rosado.

3_ Paint lips with various shades of red and pink.

Pinte los labios con varios tonos de rojo y rosado.

4_ I started painting the skin with various shades of color.

Comencé a pintar la piel con varios tonos de color.

5_ Paint the eye with green, black and white.

Pinte el ojo con verdes, negro y blanco.

6_ And I made some moles in different places.

E hice algunos lunares en diferentes lugares.

7_ Paint the eyebrow.

Pinte la ceja.

8_ I started to paint the hair by sections with black and various shades of brown.

Comencé a pintar el cabello por mechones con negro y varios tonos de marrón.

9_ I wanted the background to look like a galaxy, so I used black and various shades of purple, pink and blue.

Quise que el fondo fuera como una galaxia, para eso use negro y varios tonos de morado, rosado y azul.

10_ And for the stars I used white paint, first with a toothbrush I splashed the paint all over the background and then with a brush I made some bigger stars.

Y para las estrellas use pintura blanca, primero con un cepillo de dientes salpiquee la pintura por todo el fondo y luego con un pincel hice algunas estrellas más grandes.
