You're presently staring at the journey of three weeks. Oh not the three weeks straight, but three weeks of working on this particular piece, three weeks of several corrections, and three weeks of having this work at mind.
Pardon me I forgot to tell you this face mask piece was a result of a class work given to my colleagues and myself by our sculpture lecturer. He ask us as a sculpture student to sculpt our on face using clay, with reference from a mirror instead of the usual picture or life reference. To be sincere it was fun even when it wasn't that easy, but the correction made me a better person and I can confidently tell that I'm making progress.
Without boring you with too much talks and story, let me quickly take you through the journey of my progress shot below.
PROGRESS SHOT
Here was the building stage. If you look closely you will see alot of little pinches of clay. Yes this method of sculpting I used is known as the pinching method. Where I found myself pinching clay from my heap of Clay's to carry out a foundation of my working process.
And here I already smoothing up the pinches together approaching the detailing stage.
And here comes to the detailing stage. If you look closely you will see some detailing made on the hair.
