Hey my fellow hivers. What's Up?. Two days has passed since my first Pokeman and I am here again to add another Pokeman for my pokedex. I have told in my last blog that my goal is to have at least 7 of them. But later on, I have decided to have at least 3. But that does not mean that I won't continue drawing pokemen. Maybe, I would just stop for a while in adding pokemen in my pokedex and in the future or for some days, I will be randomly adding pokemen in my pokedex. For my upcoming blogs, I do not know if I can still frequently blog or even be active in some hive community servers because my class is gonna start tomorrow. But if the schoolworks are not that heavy, I surely am gonna make sure to blog. But for sure, if ever, I am gonna pause blogging for a while, that does not mean I will stop engaging with other hivers. I would always find time in getting along with people in the hive community discord servers. For that, I am gonna find out tomorrow if my online classes are not that busy.

For my pokedex, I am not gonna draw a pokeman for every pokemon's evolution. I am just gonna choose one whether its initial state or his evolutoons.

QuoteAlso, this Pokeman series are in a "Draw it in your style" kind of art because I am just gonna recreate, add more details, and draw other existing arts in my own kind of way. And for this art, this is inspired from a quotev art

Anyway, for this Charizard's pokeman, I call him Ignis. Since charizard's a dragon, a fire type, I thought of searching for another terms of fire. So I searched for the latin term of fire. So yes, Igniseus' name comes from the latin word of fire which is "ignis" and I added eus to make it sound cool and awesome.

Process

For this drawing, I had a quick sketch first. Then, I traced the sketch and added the base tones or colors(using the watercolor brush). I worked on first with the wings, tail, face and suit. Next is I identified where the light of the fife hits and where is the shadows gonna take place. In applying shadows, I created a layer clipped on that certain figure where I wanted to add shadows. This is to not draw out of the figure and to have a cleaner results (this would help me consume less time in cleaning the art). After, using the wet watercolor at various opacities, I blended the colors. Then, I started working on the eyes, horns and fire. Same as usual, traced the sketch of that part, applied the base colors and blending the dark ang light tones of the figure. For the hair, I drew some strands of hair and make it more detailed using smudge brush with different sizes. For the fire, I used airbrush to apply the lighting affect and also added some lighting effects to other parts of Igniseus to make the lighting effect realistic. After making the entire figure, I then worked in the background. Since I am having fire on my art, the scene should be at night or a dark scne because of course the light would glow that much in the day. Same as the previous pocess, I applied the base colors of the sky and the land. Then, added some dots at different sizes using pen.I also made a crescent moon and I used the sape tool and a gradient for that. For the land part of the background, I make the left side a lighter and the dark side darker because of the placement of the fire on the tail. Lastly, I did some saturation and brightness adjustments to the art because I felt like the colors are a bit dead.

Notes

I really am happy with my improvements in digital arts. As I go on with my practicing, I learned more techniques on how to do this and that or how to make things easier. Everytime I got a hard time doing a part of an art, I quickly searched it on youtube and followed that tutorial. Time by time, I learned and improve more. Anyway, I hope that I will not have a hard time for tomorrow's class and the upcoming ones so I can still spend some time in the discord and in blogging.

Wow. You reached this far? Thank you! That's it for today's blog. Hope you enjoyed it and had fun :)
