cóndor andino / Andean Condor
Hola amigos / Hello friends
Hello everyone. Today I share with you this illustration of the Andean condor, made with a combination of pen and colored pens. It is made on a white cardboard of 34 x 28 cm in size. Initially, I thought to make this illustration only with pen and ink, but I have seen in some artists that I follow in the networks, this way of making their works where they create a color background, which makes the art has an interesting contrast. I hope you like the final result.
Here I show you the drawing process:
The Andean condor.
The Andean condor (vultur griphus) is considered the largest flying bird in the world. Its impressive presence in the sky, has made it occupy a place in the religion and myths of mankind. Perhaps it is because birds represent for man a metaphor of ascension and freedom.
According to mythology, there is a division of the indigenous universe, a Hanan Pacha or upper world or sky, a Kay Pacha or ground or middle, a Uk'u Pacha or ground inside. For the Incas, the condor was a “messenger of the gods” who flew to the upper level of the religious world to carry prayers to the gods. It is the union between the Kay Pacha and the Hanan Pacha. It represents intelligence and exaltation or exaltation.
