Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is always fine. πŸ™‚

For this vlog, I want to share another artwork of mine.

left side is my artwork, right side is the printed, gridded reference

I drew this 3 years ago for a purpose. At that time, one of my friend is going to graduate in her Bachelor Degree Course. I want to give her something as a gift. Something that she can appreciate.

I have another friend suggested that why can't i make or draw a portrait of her.

So, I consider that idea. But I'm not confident in my artworks. But I love to draw, and I believe that it's one of my passion. So I tried to draw my friend, for me to have something to give her as a gift on her Graduation Day.

I draw this for a long time, it's about 2 months if I'm not mistaken. Since I'm still practicing and I'm just alotting just 10 to 15mins daily, so very long duration of time before i finished it. And also this is my first attempt to draw a face using GRID LINES STRATEGY.

In drawing this, I started to draw outlines I started with the outer outlines, then the eyes, nose, and lips followed.

After that, i started to darken the outlines it depends wheather it's a dark or light parts.

In drawing, for me, the eyes, nose, and lips is the most hard part for me to copy appropriately. So i really strived hard in every of my drawings to look good as the reference. But I still failed on that matter untill now. So one thing i can do to improve is to practice more and more, with the spice of enjoyment so that whatever the outcomes looks, i will be still happy. Cause someone once said that : "ART IS DON'T NEED TO BE PERFECT, ART MUST BE FUN!"

Printed reference (I'm the one who put the grids using my ruler and pencil

for a bit knowledge, specially for those beginners like me, when we are using printed out copy of reference (without grid) we are the one who will put the grids. So we must strictly put the grids surely squares and proportion for the better outcome of our drawings

At that time, when I draw this artwok, I still don't have my draw materials, I don't have sketchbook, so I used bond paper.
I used ordinary pencils and ordinary erasers and ruler. Nothing's special.πŸ˜€

And finally,.... my art work finished..... but not on time. My friend's graduation is already done when i got finished this. And untill now, this artwork of mine is still with me. And she still don't know that i have something able to give her. She don't even know that I drew her, she got no idea about my gift to her. hahaha But someday... I will still give her a gift. But not this. I will make new one and i will be give it to her whenever we meet again. As of now she's working far away from our country. Hope to see her the soonest. πŸ™‚

Well, it's true that you are very talented. Not everyone can draw, even if it takes practice. Some people are just naturally artistic. Since when did you start to draw a portrait?

i started when i was in highschool po,,, pero hindi po consistent,,, pag naisipan ko lang po magdraw, tinatry ko po 😊

ilan taon na po pala kayo?

oh good for you. I remember doing good at arts, only because we have a subject in our school when I was in high school but never portrait.

I Am 30, you?

I already followed you, since in steemit 😊 but I've been inactive for 2 years there, and now i found hive and trying to be consistent. πŸ™‚ So Hello again πŸ˜ŠπŸ™‚
