You are not left out. Heard bush babies had human face and physique and their cries sounded like that of humans. At some point in my secondary school, we heard a cry that sounded as such. Nobody knows if it was real or not. Now I know the name they go by... Galagos

Nice to know such story got to your school too. And yeah, they also said they cry like humans. Throughout my stay, I didn't experience such though we believed then and were cautious of our movements.
I personally believe they aren't real and there has not been any evidence to back it up.
