Rare Digital Doodle Discipline
I enjoy making artworks where the viewer zooms in to discover whole new scenes, as if a person is looking at a completely different piece of fine art. Such is the case with Doodle Drive. It is a completely random piece that remained an in-progress doodle for a long time--with no pressure to make a finished piece.

It all came together while I was sitting in a wedding ceremony, which is why a real bride and groom can be seen in random spots of the composition. And suddenly, with a little color added, these barely structured scribbles become spicy enough to show to the whole world as finished fine art.

This brings me to the practice of doodling as a regular activity. Have you ever noticed how interesting some of your own doodles can become... seemingly without even trying to make them good? Please allow me to bend your ear to discuss the discipline of doodling within a busy world.

There is increasing analysis of the professional rare digital art and NFT space. In fact, there's so much art, writing, and videos about rare digital art and NFTs that 1 person could not cover it all in their lifetime. The same could actually be said about the practice of doodling. So we just kind of absorb what we can, because what was fun at first can become overwhelming--an endless rabbit hole--if we are not careful to keep a pure heart about these things.

If you are like most people in this space, at least some of your time is spent hustling (in a good way) to understand enough about the art market, the blockchain, the collectors, the artists, and the community that makes up this ecosystem. And that's all good. As a healthy balance to that, I would like to share with you the value of doodling. There's more to it that meets the eye.

Doodling (as in drawing without care to make a finished product) can be an essential oasis for our renewed stamina and vigor as creative beings operating in a very fast-paced world. I have found that doodling refreshes the mind while also bringing to light new treasures from the depth of my being. Many others agree. In my February 2022 poll on Twitter, I asked the following True/False question:

Doodling (as in drawing without the care of trying to make a finished art product) is very helpful to my mental health.

Of the 33 respondents, the 1-day results showed that the vast majority (93%) of those who took the poll answered "True." Academic research also is very supportive of doodling to help the mind in many ways, including increased memory as well as providing a mental respite. So please join me in the mental art of doodling as a regular practice, and watch this space become even more fun!
