Que tal comunidad de Hive?? He pasado una temporada sin publicar contenido por aquí. Pero no he parado de hacer cosas geniales y espero ir compartiendo con ustedes algunas de las aventuras que he estado viviendo estos últimos meses.
What's up Hive community? I've been a while without posting content here. But I haven't stopped doing cool stuff and I hope to share with you some of the adventures I've been living these last months.
Este mural lo realizamos en la comunidad de La Machaca, en Petare. Es la fachada de una escuela donde la dueña tiene mas de 12 años dando clases, apoyando a los niños de la comunidad con tareas dirigidas y educación preescolar.
We made this mural in the community of La Machaca, in Petare. It is the outside of a school where the owner has been teaching for more than 12 years, supporting the children of the community with homework and preschool education.
Mi compañera, Marianna Massaroni y yo normalmente trabajamos para una ONG llamada Compromiso Compartido donde promovemos los derechos humanos a través del arte en las diferentes comunidades. Sin embargo, esta vez realizamos esta acción por nuestra cuenta y por eso decidimos utilizar nuestra propia estética. Ella se inclina mas por lo geométrico y yo investigo los portales y las manchas. De ese modo logramos integrar nuestras dos visiones en un solo proyecto.
My partner, Marianna Massaroni and I normally work for an NGO called Compromiso Compartido where we promote human rights through art in different communities. This time, however, we did this action on our own and so we decided to use our own esthetic.She leans more towards geometric and I investigate portals and stains. In this way we were able to integrate our two visions in one project.
Una de las mejores cosas de realizar un mural en una comunidad es el apoyo que recibimos de los niños. Gracias a ellos es posible terminarlo en un solo día porque ellos van rellenando los espacios que nosotras previamente delimitamos con el tirro. El único detalle es que ellos solo pueden pintar hasta cierta altura y luego se quedan con mas ganas de ayudarnos.
One of the best things about making a mural in a community is the support we receive from the children. Thanks to them it is possible to finish it in one day because they are filling in the spaces that we previously delimited with the strip. The only thing is that they can only paint up to a certain height and then they are more willing to help us.
Normalmente, las partes mas altas del mural y los detalles finales los pintamos nosotras o los chicos mas grandes que se puedan montar en las escaleras con mayor seguridad.
Normally, the highest parts of the mural and the final details are painted by us or by the older kids who can ride the ladders more safely.
Esta es la foto del mural terminado. A mi me gustó mucho el resultado del experimento de juntar los dos estilos y quedé con ganas de seguir creando cosas nuevas bajo este nuevo estilo. También la dueña de la escuelita quedo muy contenta con su fachada nueva.
This is the photo of the finished mural. I really liked the result of the experiment of putting the two styles together and I am looking forward to continue creating new things under this new style. Also the owner of the school was very happy with her new exterior.
