Hello, Hivers! It’s been a week since I last posted here. School’s been keeping me busy these days, but as promised, my other fanart from the Summertide Scales and Tides event of Genshin Impact. Today’s featured character is (drums roll, please)—Kirara! The Dendro Yokai delivery girl from Inazuma!
I always used the same brush and pen when drawing and painting digitally. So, if you want to know what brushes I used, check out my Wanderer fanart. Since I started the series with Wanderer wearing modern clothing, I decided to do the same for the rest of the characters. And it just so happened that a TikTok was trending at that time of the year when everyone just did a makeup transition to a cat from Tom and Jerry, so I decided to make Kirara wear that too, hahaha.
As usual, I started off with a rough sketch. I did draw this one with a pose reference to help me with the composition.
Then, I continued to clean the sketch until I realized my mistake of not turning on the timelapse recorder. Thank goodness I caught it early on, or else I would be completely heartbroken.
Then, I lowered the sketch’s opacity and started coloring the skin—it has to be my favorite part. I started rendering this one without thinking and then remembered that I hadn’t really cleaned out the sketch yet.
So, I worked on the lineart. So far, I liked how she looked.
Then, I rendered more on her face and added the base color to her hair, tail, clothes, and accessories.
To make it even more dynamic, I then started adding shadows and small strips of neon colors to add some sort of highlights to her hair, then blended and blurred it together.
I added more details like gems, the details for her dress, and the ribbon to make it pop. Also, I added some stickers to her hair since it would be a cute addition.
Then you know the drill, I RENDER MORE!!!
After that, I added the finishing touches like shimmer and shine, and voila—the finished product! It’s Kirara, everyone! I hope you liked it! See you again next time!
