I found an interesting face shape on pinterest and it inspired me to do this drawing. Pinterest is filled with so many beautiful models and makeup and after a while, every face just melts into one pot of beauty and you'll realize even beauty can become common when they're so many beautiful people to see. So it takes a lot of looking to find a face that stands out somehow. I think in general for me, finding something inspiring takes almost the same time as a painting sometimes. I think my eyes need a break.
Here's my final piece
I want to say that I'm happy with the eyebrows on this girl. I realized that using a custom brush and just painting an impression was more interesting to look at and easier for me. I like it. I also like her oblong fave and her eyes. If you notice I left some rough lines internationally. I'm still struggling with deciding what I want a finished piece to look like. Do I want it completely clean or with different marks from various brushes? From my work, I can tell that I'm always trying to leave some interesting marks, so maybe that's how my mind prefers it.
I started with a sketch
Then I began to fill the base colors
And then began to refine the shadows and highlights and her features.
I was going to leave her here as line art but I couldn't resist the airbrush tool in ibis because I want to perfect my usage, so it took me down this journey of more blending
Until I made my finished piece
