Watercolor melon

in Sketchbook3 years ago

Hi everyone, today is a watercolor day. I've been under some stress lately with all the things I have to do in my life and the weather. But today I had to take a sick leave because I guess all these things triggered my asthma and I've been coughing. So I slept a bit and used this time to destress by painting with watercolor since it's actually the more coming medium for me.

Here's the final piece

I started with a sketch

Then I painted the base colors. I used permanent red light and madder red lake to paint the red part of the watermelon. I used sap green and lemon yellow to paint the green bits. Still using my van gogh watercolor set which I'm very pleased with and hahnemule watercolor paper.
