I have a vague memory of a story that my Grandmother told me when I was young. It’s about her dog which is his companion for a long time. It was very old when we’re still young but despite of that he was very protective of us. He was diligently following us wherever we go. He will even follow my grandma to the market. Until one day, he followed my her to the farm, and then he got lost and never found. It’s a sad ending and I apologize for that. However, according to my grandma, he lived a long and fulfilling life as her companion.
Today, I would like to recall my time with our dog. Although it’s unclear, I remember walking with him once on our farm.
My drawing is the result of my vague memory and with the help of a photo reference which I found on Pinterest. The identity of the photographer was not mentioned in the Pinterest board and so I will simply provide the link as the source.
For the second part of this post, I took the photos of the important steps of my drawing process.
A brief description of my process is that I always start with the outline of the background and the subject. From there I will hatch the background and midground of the scene. Next is hatching/shading the supporting elements and finally move on to the main subject.
Nice one :)
