Can you spot them dancing in my ink night sky?
It just dawned to me that this process looks like the owl meme, so here you have it for your entertainment and dose of laughter xD I used a bunch of tools to create this one - Diamine drawing jet black ink, Diamine fountain pen ink Arabian Nights, Diamine fountain pen ink Sherwood Green, a hint of teal Diamine drawing ink that arrived in the mail to me this week for the night sky, Pigma Micron fine liner 03 for the layers of dots to darken some areas and make them more fun, Sakura Gelly Roll white liner 08 for stars, and Pigma Brush pen for the background frame, which I feel, made the artwork more complete.
I was accompanied by Muse, one of my favorite bands of all time, and found inking this tiny drawing relaxing. Hope you like it!
This batch of inks is the newest addition to my ink obsession. Diamine drawing & calligraphy inks - Teal, Peacock, Ruby, and Canary Yellow. Made in Uk. These inks are super pigmented, tiniest amounts go a long way, and they have a more acrylic finish, which I prefer over the matte inks. I love them and am super impressed with their performance! So much so that I went through the pain of dealing with customs to order some more of the jet black ink bottles directly from the Uk since they were not available anywhere else in Latvian shops.
These will be useful for the rest of the challenge I am sure! ^^
I am still about halfway there. Thank you for visiting my blog, for your support, and for your encouraging comments! See you tomorrow!
Song of the day: Muse - Starlight
This is so cool, I love love it! Green, blue and black, what a combo! You were funny with the owl lol. This drawing has definetely a nordic vibe
Aww thank you Mary! Ahaha, I was laughing pretty hard when I discovered the owl meme.
I am so glad you picked up on the Nordic vibe, the green ink always reminds me of northern lights :)
Have you ever seen the northern lights?
Unfortunately, not yet. While I am pretty close to North, I have not seen them. I remember some years ago while I was studying still bunch of students went closer to the sea during wintertime (was it early spring hmm), with snow and all and they got to see them here. I also did not get to see them when I was studying in Norway. It is still on my bucket list though, so I will make sure to travel further north and see them :)
How about you? Have you witnessed them?
You studied in Norway? In what town? That is awesome as I also studied there for a short period of time in the city of Volda. I did witness the northern lights in a short trip to Tromso. They are beautiful! We caught a fairly clear sky, sometimes they look better and more colorful on camera than in reality, it all depends on the weather
It was in Hønefoss at the Buskerud and Vestfold University College, not too far from Oslo. I was there for about 6 months as part of the exchange studies. I studied to become travel manager or tour guide :)
Aww that is amazing! I am glad you experienced it. Honestly, I miss north a bit, a trip to more north Norway would be amazing. I also want to go to Iceland.
Erasmus? I was also with that. Norway was so pricey for my student wallet lol, I remember craving chocolate like it was gold lol. I have not seen northern lights there, maybe it was not the right position.
Iceland....oh yes, that is a dream location😍😍
Nice interpretation! I always referred to those constellations as the big and little dipper because they are also shaped like a ladle. I can't make a bear out of them at all, but it's like that for most of the constellations. Its like "see those 4 stars up there? If you look just right you can make out 2 people wearing a hat, holding hands and carrying a barrel of wine."
And I'm like, 🤔
...
...
🧐
Yes I totally see that...
🙃
Hahaha
It is interesting how these constellations have so many different names as well. I can understand however where the Great bear comes from. There are more stars in it than what usually is presented or can be spotted just with your vision, and when those are added, I can sort of see a bear xD but with a long tail.
I wasn't aware of the additional stars. That makes way more sense lol
That's an awesome piece of art. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, I am happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
You welcome
Pretty interesting idea!!
Thank you! :) I always like to take a bit different route when I can with these ideas what to draw for each prompt.
