RE: A tiny home and our wedding anniversary. ❤️❤️❤️

in Sketchbook6 months ago

How nice you are together and both artists, can it get any better? Today is Midsummer Eve, the longest day of the year. Our whole family will celebrate with wreaths in their hair and lots of good food. There will be starters on our table, with herring and new potatoes, strawberries and a few soups with Swedish brandy for those who want! Those who have not found a partner must then walk across 7 yarrow gardens and pick 7 kinds of flowers, walk around a well backwards blindfolded, when you open your eyes the first man or woman will be their partner for life!!
So congratulations to you both!

Thanks so much, dear @mandragora88 ! Such a beautiful (and romantic!) ritual for people who have not found a partner. ❤️ Here in Italy, in the ancient time, people used to light fires on the fields to banish of bad spirits and demons (the most part of our traditional rituals are about to banish bad things :D ) but now the most part of traditional rituals are in the night of Saint John (June 23) because the influence of the Christian Church that wanted people forget the no Christian traditions. We use to collect wild plants in the night of the june 23 to make the "Saint John's water" that give us best wishes for health, love and others.
