Very good afternoon my dear people of #hive, happy Friday and above all happy beginning of the weekend for all of you who are here passing by my post; I hope you have had a great week full of good things. Well today I wanted to share with you a piece titled: A Farewell that could be the last, and in it I focused on painting a pretty girl named Chloe which is undertaking a long journey by boat after saying goodbye to the great love of his life, he had to stay in his kingdom to defend it from a possible threat that was approaching to attack him; What Chloe did not know before leaving, is that this threat was planning to attack with all their strength and weapons at their disposal and would be willing to kill every last man in order to take control of the kingdom, and most likely would not see her beloved again:
Muy buenas tardes mi querida gente de #hive, feliz viernes y sobre todo feliz inicio de fin de semana para todos los que por aquí se encuentran pasando por mi post; ojalá hayan tenido una gran semana llena de cosas buenas. Bueno el día de hoy quise compartirles una obra que lleva como título: Una Despedida que Podría ser la última, y en ella me centre en pintar a una linda chica llamada Chloe la cual se encuentra emprendiendo un largo viaje en barco luego de despedirse del gran amor de toda su vida, él tuvo que quedarse en su reino para defenderlo de una posible amenaza que se aproximaba a atacarlo; lo que no sabia Chloe antes de partir, es que esa amenaza planeaba atacar con toda su fuerza y armas a su disposición e irían dispuestos a acabar hasta con el ultimo hombre con tal de hacerse con el control del reino, y muy probablemente no volvería a ver a su amado de nuevo:
For this illustration I had the idea of making a sketch that was more half body style or a little more portrait in fact, I drew Chloe with a pose as if she was almost half sideways, with her hand resting on one of the railings of the boat; I tried to give the character a style or a rather elegant appearance as if it were a duchess or something like that and with long hair as I mostly like to create this type of characters. The choice of the colors was not so complicated, I only leaned towards warm and pink tones for the skin above all, I started establishing a very demarcated base color and then I created a top layer where I would apply the tones that would establish the basic forms of the cheekbones, eyelids, neck and others; in detail of the volume I always like to start it with soft brushes, and then I would gradually move to brushes a little flatter and with more and more defined opacity.
Para esta ilustración tuve la idea de hacer un boceto que fuese mas a estilo medio cuerpo o un poco mas retrato de hecho, dibuje a Chloe con una pose como si se encontrara casi de medio lado, con su mano apoyada en uno de los barandales del barco; trate de darle al personaje un estilo o una apariencia bastante elegante como si se tratara de una duquesa o algo por el estilo y con un cabello largo como mayormente me gusta crear a este tipo de personajes. La elección de los colores no fue tan complicada, solo me incline por tonalidades un poco cálidas y rosadas para la piel sobre todo, empecé estableciendo una base de color muy demarcada y luego cree una capa superior donde iría aplicando las tonalidades que establecerían las formas básicas de los pómulos, parpados, cuello y demás; en detallado del volumen siempre me gusta comenzarlo con pinceles suaves, para luego irme pasando de a poco a pinceles un poco mas planos y con opacidad cada vez más definida.
For the details of the face, for example the lips, I played a little with the color palette and the red tones to first establish a little shape in the lips, and then give them fleshiness and realism; then for the painting of the eyes I wanted to do something that contrasted too much with the previous colors and for that reason I chose this medium light blue tone which little by little I was clarifying and illuminating from the inside out and detailing with much patience the internal details like the fibers of the iris, shines of the sclera of the eye and above all the shadow of the eyelids. After giving better shape to the face I continued with what would be the basic shape of the suit or rather Chloe's dress, for this I was giving primary brushstrokes with the airbrush around the whole dress to create a little noisy texture; then for the kind of veil that she wears around her arms I tried to use more the watercolor brush and lowered a little the opacity of the layer to try to make it look more like a translucent silk fabric.
Para los detalles del rostro como por ejemplo los labios jugué un poco con la paleta de colores y los tonos rojos para lograr primero establecer un poco de forma en los labios, y luego ir dándoles carnosidad y realismo a los mismos; luego para el pintado de los ojos si quise hacer algo que contrastara demasiado con los anteriores colores y por ello elegí este tono azul celeste bastante medio el cual poco a poco fui aclarando e iluminando de adentro hacia afuera y detallando con mucha paciencia los detalles internos como las fibras del iris, brillos de la esclerótica del ojo y sobre todo las sombra de los parpados. Después e darle mejor forma al rostro continúe con lo que sería la forma básica del traje o mejor dicho el vestido de Chloe, para esto fui dando pinceladas primarias con el aerógrafo alrededor de todo el vestido para crear una textura un poco ruidosa; luego para la especie de velo de que lleva alrededor de sus brazos trate de usar mas el pincel acuarela y baje un poco la opacidad a la capa para tratar de que esta se asemejara bastante a una tela de seda traslucida.
Continuing with the dress in this part I focused more on giving the last textures to the dress with the watercolor brush to better define what would be the details of folds and joints of the dress, also detail a little more the translucent veil with many gray tones almost white; finally and to finish the dress definitely what I did was to try to capture some patterns of flowers or rose petals across the surface of the dress with a very very intense red. Another thing that would complement Chloe's outfit would be a jewel necklace that I decided to add later when I started to apply colors, I thought that this would give a more elegant touch to the character and would make her look like a duchess; in this case I painted the necklace with a silver texture with several gems or blood red rubies embedded throughout the necklace.
Continuando con el vestido en esta parte me centre mas en darle las ultimas texturas al vestido ya con el pincel acuarela para definir mejor lo que serian los detalles de pliegues y uniones del vestido, también detalle un poco mas el velo traslucido con muchos tonos grises casi blancos; por ultimo y para terminar definitivamente el vestido lo que hice fue tratar de plasmar algunos patrones de flores o pétalos de rosa por toda la superficie del vestido con un rojo muy muy intenso. Otra cosa que le daría complemento al atuendo de Chloe seria un collar de joyas que decidí añadir posteriormente cuando comencé a aplicar colores, me pareció que esto le daría un toque más elegante al personaje y la haría ver como si fuese una duquesa; en este caso pinte el collar con una textura como de plata con varias gemas o rubís rojos como la sangre incrustados por todo el collar.
The last thing I did was to try to capture a sunset scene with an open plane, that is to say as if it was the sunset in the middle of the sea where the boat where Chloe sails, for this what I did was to apply a little bit the brush (gradent) to obtain a more natural mixture of blue and yellow similar to that of a sunset; as I did everything step by step after having the base of the sunset the following thing I did was to begin to paint the railing where Chloe is leaning, this way it gives better the sensation that the character is on the deck of the boat remembering what she left behind. As a complement for the sunset I painted some clouds to accompany the sky a little bit, also I thought almost at the end to paint a moon emerging from the darker side of the background to give a better sensation that the sun is falling and the night is setting.
A lo último lo que hice fue tratar de plasmar un escenario de atardecer con un plano abierto, es decir como si fuese el atardecer en medio del mar por donde navega el barco donde va Chloe, para esto lo que hice fue aplicar un poco el pincel (gradent) para obtener una mezcla mas natural de azul y amarillo similar a la de un atardecer; como hice todo paso a paso luego de tener la base del atardecer lo siguiente que hice fue comenzar a pintar el barandal donde Chloe se encuentra apoyada, de esta forma se da mejor la sensación el personaje se encuentra en la cubierta del barco recordando lo que dejo atrás. Como complemente para el atardecer pinte algunas nubes que acompañara un poco el cielo, también se me ocurrió casi al final pintar una luna emergiendo desde el lado mas oscuro del fondo para dar una mejor sensación de que esta cayendo el sol y se pone la noche.
