Hello, beautiful people of the internet, I hope you are very well. As for me, I must say that I feel satisfied with the last drawings I have done, and of course I want to share with you (I have a lot of material saved).
Today I will show you the process of this illustration that became one of my favorites, I feel that I have improved a lot the technique in watercolors and I am not afraid to be intense with the colors and also to be more spontaneous in each brushstroke.
Let's get started!
This is the sketch, I made simple strokes to give me the opportunity to focus more on working with watercolors. First I made the woman's face and the idea of drawing a cat came suddenly, but I liked it, it occupies the free space of the sheet and complements the composition.
If you see a little movement in some of the photos, it's because I had to take screenshots of the videos I recorded for the content I made in my Instagram account. It's been a while since I last posted here, so I dedicate myself to save the processes of my drawings in video format, hehehe.
In this part I had already painted a few layers of the woman's skin and proceeded with her hair and the background.
During the process of this drawing what I did was to paint first one character and while the watercolor layer was drying, I took advantage of the time to start painting an element of the other character and so on, I was painting simultaneously each one to save time.
Then I proceeded with the cat. I was a little nervous to paint him because I don't have much practice painting animals, so I crossed my fingers and gathered a lot of concentration to get the texture of the fur right.
I came back with the portrait of the woman. This time I added the textures of the hair and fabric using colored pencils, which I think gave it a very nice effect. The colorful patterns on the fabric made the portrait even more interesting and attractive.
I was very happy when the layers of the kitten's space dried and I could see the effect of the brushstrokes more clearly, it didn't take too much detail with the orange stripes or even his fur to make them look like it. I continued to add color to his little eyes and then to the plants he is hiding in.
With a deep green pencil I defined the outline of some leaves and then, using a white gel pen (which I love) I drew the cat's whiskers and some little hairs on his body. Don't you think it's cute?
As for the portrait, I used the same pen to add some highlights or highlights on the woman, especially on her lips and nose. The effect of the background I really liked because it was a technique called "wet on wet", for this I just painted the background with a layer of color and while the paper was still wet, I added more color in some areas that little by little expanded by themselves leaving that "wet" effect.
Definitely one of my favorite pages in my sketchbook.

Hola, gente bonita de internet, espero que estén muy bien. En cuanto a mí, debo decir que me siento satisfecha por los últimos dibujos que he hecho, y que por supuesto quiero compartir con ustedes (tengo mucho material guardado).
El día de hoy les mostraré el proceso de esta ilustración que se convirtió en una de mis favoritas, siento que he mejorado mucho la técnica en acuarelas y no me da miedo ser intensa con los colores y también ser más espontánea en cada pincelada.
¡Empecemos!
Este es el boceto, hice trazos sencillos para darme la oportunidad de enfocarme más en el trabajo con las acuarelas. Primero hice el rostro de la mujer y la idea de dibujar un gato surgió de repente, pero me gustó, ocupa el espacio libre de la hoja y complementa la composición.
Si ven un poco de movimiento en algunas fotos, es que tuve que sacar capture de pantalla a los videos que grabé para el contenido que hice en mi cuenta en Instagram. Hace un tiempo que no publico por aquí, entonces me dedico a guardar los procesos de mis dibujos en formato de video, jejeje.
En esta parte ya había pintado unas cuantas capas de la piel de la mujer y procedí con su cabello y el fondo.
Durante el proceso de este dibujo lo que hice fue pintar primero un personaje y en el transcurso que se secaba la capa de acuarela, aprovechaba el tiempo para empezar a pintar un elemento del otro personaje y así sucesivamente, iba pintando simultáneamente cada uno para ahorrar tiempo.
Luego procedí con el gato. Me sentí un tanto nerviosa de pintarlo porque no tengo mucha práctica pintando animales, así que crucé los dedos y reuní mucha concentración para que la textura del pelaje me saliera bien.
Volví con el retrato de la mujer. Esta vez me dediqué a añadir las texturas del cabello y de la tela usando lápices de colores que, considero que le dio un efecto muy bonito. El colorido de los dibujos de la tela hizo que el retrato fuera más interesante y atractivo incluso.
Me sentí muy feliz cuando las capas del espacio del gatito se secaron y pude ver el efecto de las pinceladas con más claridad, no hizo falta ser demasiado detallista con las franjas naranjas ni tampoco con su pelaje para que lucieran como tal. Continué añadiendo color a sus ojitos y luego a las plantas en las que está escondido.
Con un lápiz de color verde intenso definí el contorno de algunas hojas y luego, usando un bolígrafo de gel blanco (que amo) dibujé los bigotes del gato y algunos pelitos de su cuerpo. ¿No les parece tierno?
En cuanto al retrato, usé el mismo bolígrafo para añadir algunos toques de luz o de brillo en la mujer, especialmente en sus labios y su nariz. El efecto del fondo me gustó mucho porque fue una técnica que se llama "mojado sobre mojado", para ello solo pinté el fondo con una capa de color y mientras aún estuviera húmedo el papel, añadí más color en algunas áreas que poco a poco se fueron expandiendo por sí mismas dejando ese efecto de "humedad".
Definitivamente una de mis páginas favoritas de mi sketchbook.
