En uno de mis últimos posts, les he mostrado una antojo de dibujar músicos españoles, que le nombrado a ese post "Antojos Españoles" justo como en este, con la diferencia que ya se habrán dado cuenta en este caso sería de músicos ingleses, he escogido los que más me han causado un impacto a la hora de escucharles y hacerles parte de mi soundtrack diario, serán un poco cliché pero que sea popular no quiere decir que no sea bueno; vamos a verlos y que yo les hable un poco de cada uno de ellos.
In one of my last posts, I have shown you a desire to draw Spanish musicians, which I named to that post "Spanish Cravings" just this one, with the difference that you may have already noticed, in this case it would be English musicians, I have chosen the ones that have made the most impact on me when listening to them and making them part of my daily soundtrack, they will be a bit of a cliché but being popular does not mean that it is not good; let's see them and let me tell you a little about each one of them.
Comencémos con Harry Styles, les diré que no era muy fan de él, me parecía que era otro miembro más de una boy band pero que equivocada estaba porque al escuchar su primer álbum de solista, quedé impresionada con las canciones, con su voz y las letras, más allá de si es un ícono de la moda, un hombre que ha rompido con sus propios estereotipos masculinos que él mismo ha dicho que lo habían gobernado, tiene canciones muy hermosas, me parece muy valiente de algunos artistas el exponer tanto de su vida en sus canciones y Harry Styles en muchas ocasiones lo hace tan bien que te puedes identificar con lo que dice mientras te hace querer bailar.
Let's start with Harry Styles, I will tell you that I was not a big fan of him, it seemed to me that he was another member of a boy band but I was wrong because when I listened to his first solo album, I was impressed with the songs, with his voice and the lyrics, beyond whether he is a fashion icon, a man who has broken with his own masculine stereotypes that he himself has said had governed him, he has very beautiful songs, I find it very brave of some artists to expose so much of their life in his songs and Harry Styles on many occasions does it so well that you can relate to what he says as he makes you want to dance.
La siguiente es Amy Winehouse, una músico incomparable, siempre había escuchado de ella pero jamás había sido algo impactante para mí, hasta que una buena noche, me puse a escudriñar las listas de reproducción de YouTube y me salto a una canción de esta cantante, sinceramente estaba muy escéptica de que me fuese a gustar pero igual la escuché, una decisión muy sabía, dure meses escuchando sus álbumes, tengo mis canciones favoritas de ella, me conecte mucho con su mensaje de que sólo deseaba a un amigo, compañía y estar bien, porque así me sentía en esos momentos de mi vida, sin duda atesoro ese instante dónde la escuché y sentí como si hubiese descubierto un tesoro.
The next one is Amy Winehouse, an incomparable musician, I had always heard of her but it had never been something shocking to me, until one good night, I started to scrutinize the YouTube playlists and I jumped to a song by this singer, I was honestly very skeptical that I was going to like it but I listened to it anyway, a very wise decision, I spent months listening to her albums, I have my favorite songs from her, I connected a lot with her message that she only wanted a friend, company and being well, because that's how I felt in those moments of my life, without a doubt I treasure that moment where I listened to her and felt as if I had discovered a treasure.
Freddy Mercury, no creo que deba presentárselos, a parte de ser un músico visionario e innovador, la primera vez que escuché a Mercury me dije "No me impresiona" sólo por curiosidad ahonde en sus canciones y quedé impresionada con él, con las letras que escribía y más allá de eso, con su voz, una voz que te envuelve, me fascino como llegaba a algunas notas, como cantaba y como se movía en el escenario, sencillamente quedé prendada de como reflejaba esa seguridad y toda su extravagancia fuera y dentro del escenario.
Freddy Mercury, I don't think I should introduce them to you, apart from being a visionary and innovative musician, the first time I heard Mercury I said "I'm not impressed" just out of curiosity, I delved into his songs and I was impressed with him, with the lyrics that he wrote and beyond that, with his voice, a voice that surrounds you, I was fascinated by how he reached some notes, how he sang and how he moved on stage, I was simply captivated by how he reflected that security and all his extravagance outside and inside from Stage.
La última pero no menos importante es Adele, alguna vez en más de una ocasión habrás escuchado una canción de esta cantante, lo que más me atrapo de ella fue claramente su voz, la he escuchado desde muy niña, antes me daba como una sensación de respeto y de seriedad sus canciones, sonaba tan firme, decidida en cada palabra pero luego, al crecer me envolvía más una sensación de acompañamiento en sus canciones más tristes y reflexivas, admiro muchísimo a Adele, y vuelvo a repetir de que sea conocido, popular o cliché, no quiere decir que no sea bueno.
The last but not least is Adele, once on more than one occasion you will have heard a song by this singer, what caught me the most about her was clearly her voice, I have listened to her since I was a child, before she gave me a feeling of respect and seriousness in her songs, she sounded so firm, determined in every word but later, as I grew up, a feeling of accompaniment enveloped me more in her saddest and most reflective songs, I admire Adele very much, and I repeat that she is known, popular or cliché, does not mean that it is not good.
