Charcoal and Pencil DrawingI The Majestic Mount Kanlaon of Canlaon City

Just recently, the Mt. Kanlaon of Canlaon City erupted which displaced many constituents in our community. The volcano looks calm early in the morning with the white clouds crowning on top. The people were already used to its appearance even when it smoked black since it's a live volcano after all. After the eruption, it became calm again. It usually looks like this. I like to capture its tranquil moment with my drawing pencil.

I used the following:

•soft granite pencil
•tissue stick
•Sketchbook 27 x 29.7 cm
•Eraser•Drawing pencil #8B

As you can see on the watermark of the sketchbook, I started at 5:25AM this morning, making the outline of the volcano from this angle.

I used the #4B pencil for shading.

I used a tissue stick to refine the shadows.

Done at 6:02 in the morning!

Looks nice in a vintage frame!
