I'm back for another art post and today, I did a clown character from the promt that I generated/ I wanted to go for some classic style of character design, to be more specific, the 70's like Heide or Anne of Green Gables. I am quite happy with the result that I made. 😊
Since the promt that I got is once again too random I decided to make a character that I think will match the randomness of it. 😆 I hope you would like this piece!
Now, here are the steps that I followed in making this piece: ✔️
✨ Step 1 ✔️
First, did a quick sketch of the piece that I want to draw 😊.Learning from my mistake yeterday, I made the shape to have a better read and I think this is 10x more better of a quick sketch than the last time. 😁
✨ Step 2 ✔️
I then redrew the lines while also fixing some mistakes. I used this time to think of things to add to my character design. I don't know why but I think I can see Mariah Carrey in this character's face 😆 (I watched too much Christmas MVs.)
✨ Step 3 ✔️
I then redrew my lineart while trying to put some styles on my lineart. I tried using the soft brush on the thick lines while using the hard brush on thefocal points and the thinner lines. I am not that solved with this style but I can see an improvement, I think.
✨ Step 4 ✔️
Next is I added the flat colors of the piece. This is the second most exciting part for me while drawing! 😆
✨ Step 5 ✔️
I then added the shadows of the image. I can see that I am improving my speed at adding the shadows in my painting. And so far, this is the most exciting part since I can see the piece comes to life! 😍
✨ Step 6 ✔️
Finally, I added the highlights and after some minor tweaks, it is finished! 💙
I also added some background. 😄

🤔 What should I work on next time? 🤔
I think I should get back on my basics. I think that I am starting to forget some basic stuff so that is my priority as I study art.
