Hey you! How are you? Oh, you're fine? That's great! You ask why? Because here I am posting another art that I made 😆 and this time is a little different. I wanted to experiment on the kind of stlye that I really want to learn and stick to. ❤️ I am not yet set on stone on what my final art syle to look like but I want it to have a painterly look with some amazing lineart while having a cinematic feels to it. I want to tell a story using the art so here is another small step that I will be making. 😊

First of all, I just focused on making this piece to have a painterly look in to it. I don't want to do everything at once without observing on how I paint the stuff. At first, I was contemplating if I want to do a prompt today or just paint whatever I want but in the end, I decided that I'll be much more easier to draw with a promt. 🤣

I decided to draw a Crocodile girl with a golden coin in her mouth as she takes a bath. I don't know how to draw water on skin yet so I just decided to make her skin much more shiny that usual. 🤣

"Oh, the water is out! 😲"

Now, here are the steps that I followed in making this piece: ✔️

✨ Step 1 ✔️

First, did a quick sketch of the piece that I want to draw 😊. As always, I keep my lines here as loose as possible. I started by stablishing the basic shapes of the piece. 😄 I want her to be rounded yet sharp. 😎

✨ Step 2 ✔️

I then added the flat colors. This by far the easiest step of all! 🤣

✨ Step 3 ✔️

Next is I drew the shadows. I always keep in my mind the skull shape as I paint the shadow since the skull and other internal organs are the one that gives shape to our faces. 💀

✨ Step 4 ✔️

I then blended the shadows and added the highlights. I just place the highlight where it is most frequently found on a portrait.

✨ Step 5 ✔️

I then added the color of the tail while also adding some green colors to the skin to unify the feeling in this painting. 💚

✨ Step 6 ✔️

Lastly, I added some blue color to signify the water where she showers. I also added some color dodge on her eyes and also added some highlights on the boobs and coin.

🤔 What should I work on next time? 🤔

I can see that my brush strokes are too messy and there are some techniques that I need to learn so I could improve my art, like painting water! 🌊 So far, I am quite happy with this art piece. 😊
