A fish in the box (mixed media on paper)

in Sketchbook2 months ago

Hello hivers, an happy Sunday to you all! It's a warm sunny Sunday here and I just came back at home after we visited the sweet twins (now 1 month old) of our relatives who lives just few minutes from our home. To stay with them watching those tiny hands, tiny feet, tiny everything make me feel in peace with the entire world, believe me. Some really sweet moments that made my day. ❤️

This morning, after the first cup of coffee of the day and after I gave food to my furry friend Richy, I decided to work on one of the old paper box of embroidery thread and, in the following pic, you can see the final result of one of them:

As you can see it's a red fish inside a box. 😊Simple and fast, but I like the final result. Thinking about the name of the brand printed on the cover of the box ("ancora" is the italian word for "anchor") I thought to paint inside of it something about the sea and so what's better than a fish? ^_^
It's a mixed media (acrylic colors, oil colors and white ink) painting on paper and, like I use to do, I took some pics while I was painted this the fish so you can see the process too:

I hope you like it and stay tuned to see how I painted the new old paper box!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I adore this one, Silvia! The box is so cleaver of you and what a great little conversation piece for a side table. ♥

Thanks so much, dear Sunscape! ❤️

This is amazing, please what area did you apply the oil color, I use oil color too just that it take longer time to cure or dry, but it’s still one of my favorite mediums regardless.

I love so much to use oil colors on paper, because the time to dry is faster than on canvas. In this case I used oil colors for the light blue background and the red of the fish. ^_^ If you try to use the oil colors on different kind of paper you'll see the result will be faster than on ther surfaces. ❤️

Wow I haven’t really tried oil on paper that much because I haven’t figured out the right paper to use, I only paint on canvas and it takes a lot of time to dry up, this is why I do a lot of charcoal works here so I can be consistent with my page, but on my instagram it’s mostly oil paint.

Siempre tan creativa, gracias por compartirlo

Muchas gracias ❤️
