A tiny duck in the style of ancient bestiaries (oil on paper)

in Sketchbook2 years ago

Hello hivers, an happy Thursday to you all! It seems the rain can't stop to fall down from the sky this month. It's not a problem for me cause I work at home and so I can stay dry inside my home, I also love the sounds of the raindrops that run on the window, but I'd like to have enougt natural light to work on my paitings close to the opened window as I love to do. ^_^ Doesn't matter, I can always add some colors around thanks my brushes and colors! ❤️
As usual this morning I woke up soon to work during the first hours of the day, when everything looks so quiet and silent, my favorite hours of the day.

I finished a new piece of the series of tiny painting in the style of ancient bestiaries and you can see the final result in the following pics:

As you can see, the subject is a duck (in my own illustative style). As I wrote when I started this series I want to mix my own style to the style of the illustrations in the ancient bestiaries and, even if I started it as an excercise, I'm having so much fun to paint this kind of pieces and I think I'll create a sort of art book in collaboration with my hubby @paolobeneforti. ^_^
It's an oil painting on 200 gsm paper in A6 size and, like I use to do, I took some pics while I was painting it so you can see the process too:

See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
