Sketching in freedom

in Sketchbook9 months ago

Hello hivers, an happy Tuesday to you all!
Grey sky over my city, but I'm lucky because I can add colors all around me thanks my brushes! ^_^
Today, after the lunch, I felt the need to leave my hands free to work on my sketchbook and so I placed watercolors, pastels and pencils on my table and I started to work on a blank page of my sketchbook.

When I leave my imagination free to work is always so relaxing for me,because it's a funny activity and also an interesting way to improve techniques and ideas.

In the following pic you can see the page I just finished:

Just to know, the sentence I wrote "strani mondi" in italian means "strange worlds". ^_^

As you can see, I used a different palette of colors and a different style than my usual. In this page I created a strange insect close to some not real plant and also a strange bird. It's useful to come out from my "comfort zone"to understand what can I do and what could working well for my paintings.
I took some pics while I was working on this page, just to show the step starting from the leaf I used to paint the body of the insect:

Silvia
