Thinking about home, another new piece (oil on paper)

in Sketchbook10 days ago (edited)

An happy Monday to you all!
I hope you spent a nice weekend! Yesterday I had a very very sweet couple of hours after the lunch, because me and my hubby @paolobeneforti went to visit the newborn babies (just 3 and hald months old!) of his cousin who lives just few minutes by car from us.
The 2 little ones are twins and they are simply fantastic. Now they started their first smiles and it's so touching to watch their happy faces and to have them in our arms. Every time I went there is a joy for my heart and I love to stay with those little ones to give them food or just to sing them a lullaby, it's like a jump in the past when my daughter was little like them. ❤️

After that beautiful afternoon, this morning I woke up full of energy and positive thoughts, so, after the first cup of coffee of my day I started to work on a new artwork about home and, in the following pics, you can see the final result:

As you can see, the subject is a woman with dark red hair and dress and a tiny scene about home on her head.
It's an oil painting on 200 gsm paper in A4 size and, like I use to do, I took some pics while I was painted her so you can see the process too:

Soon I'll add this new artwork to my Artfinder shop (link at the bottom)!

I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

Aunt Brun is going up to the cabin, now that it's almost Christmas, and bake gingerbread houses.

You make me think I have to paint something about Christmas and the gingerbread houses! :P

Here in Sweden, almost all families with children bake gingerbread houses, it's a tradition! Then you eat the house after Christmas. We also have national pepper house competitions in which some architects are also involved. Think you should google it and see pictures. You know Hansel and Gretel come to a gingerbread house..........

Thinking of home because there's no place like home.
