Hello everyone and welcome to my blog again. I was going to do something different than most of the practice sketches I have been doing. I decided to do a shaded work as fast as possible and still try to reach a certain quality with the work.
I needed a model a lot of people will recognise almost immediately around the world so Which better model to draw other than Donald J. Trump? Maybe Obama though but I didn't want to work with a black face.
Tools
0.4mm mechanical pencil
Gloss cardboard paper
**Gpc charcoal pencil soft medium **
Steadtler graphite 6b
So, I have never worked with a white person or someone with a super fair skin so this was a bit tasky for me as I had to go light on shades (something I rarely do)
I start with a very soft sketch as usual.. This is always the foundation of every drawing. Need I say that this is all free hand.
I then darken a few areas where I'll be needing to concentrate on my darker values. Then went over it with a charcoal pencil.
I then used a blending stomp to soften the lines of the charcoal pencil and drag some charcoal to the other parts needed.
I then go into the shadows and shades around the face with my homemade tortilion and shade it before coming over it again with crosshatchs
What do you think??
