Hi guys, how are you?
RuslanKorosArt here!
Do you have a favorite game? I am sure that you will think about it and in the answer to this question you will say that there are several of them. I'm sure Half Life will be on their list.
As an engineer, I love this game with my special love :)
After going through Black Mesa, I was inspired by the portrait of the G-Man character.
His mysterious image of a star bureaucrat makes the character apprehensive. But with reverence. Especially his spirit is transmitted through his eyes and voice. I can't tell you the voice, but the eyes... I tried to convey their dangerous "light" as much as possible
A little bit about the sketch technique that I'm using now
There are 2 periods in the life of every artist:
- this is when you are young and free. You have a lot of time to draw and hone your skills.
- when family and household chores take up almost all of your time. Therefore, at this moment you realize that in your work you are limited by the time frame. Being able to draw quickly, getting into precise shapes, not using an eraser is one of the facets of a high skill.
Reducing the drawing time does not lead to a deterioration in quality at all! I think that even on the contrary - the artist sweeps away everything superfluous. After all, extra details spoil the picture, distracting from the main details.
I started using these practices recently. I used to draw my sketches for 6-8 hours. I'm surprised how much it is. But in Britain, time flies fast. Now my drawings take about 2 hours.
And I want to advise all artists to try to limit themselves in time. Give yourself an hour or two for drawing AND NO MORE. And you will see how your technique will change. How differently will you think when planning the details.
As in the last post, I used graphite and chalk
I hope you like it, here's another photo
