New Drawing: Commissioned Birthday Portrait (Step By Step)

in Sketchbook2 years ago

Hello Friend. Last week a friend of mine requested for a portrait of her mother. She hasn't been with her mother in a couple years because she had travelled to another part of the world to school and explore and felt it would be thoughtful to send her mother a drawing of her on her birthday which was yesterday. My schedule wasn't so tight, although I had to go out very early yesterday and when I got back I just created the artwork using the scribble technique. The most interesting part of the drawing was her face cos she has this radiant smile that kept me going all through the process. The most challenging aspects were here glasses though, but I'm glad I pulled through. I used two colours for this piece, the black for the shades as well as shadows and the white for the highlights. This piece was created on the autodesk sketchbook app and I shared the process below. I hope you love it.

Wow what a beautiful piece of art. Especially the amount of detailing in the glasses.

Thank you so much for checking it out. I focused on the glasses details because it was one of the key areas of tbe portrait. I'm glad it turned out well
