When my students ask me what my favorite season is, I find it difficult to answer. There are only wet and dry seasons where I am. However, if I'm to imagine a four-season place, I'd probably answer spring.
I imagine it as a new beginning... a refreshing season where beautiful and vibrant colors fill the air. And since I'm into anime, I always associate spring with cherry blossoms. That's in addition to the stories I hear from my students and the photos they share during our classes.
With these things in mind, I created an artwork of a spring that I would love to witness someday.
Well, although I have Japan in mind when I made this, I made several purple mountains instead of the usual Mt. Fuji. I don't know why, but I just enjoy painting something purple these days. hahah
And of course, the cherry blossom trees, pagoda and a body of water are a must. lol Anyway, let me share the progress shots of this artwork below.
I first sketched it using a 5H pen before outlining it with a 0.1 pen. I asked my father to get me a new one since I ran out of 0.1 pens, and I wanted to try it out. XD I'm mostly going to make smaller artwork, so it's a must-have for me.
The coloring part will always be the most fun for me. I like how my sketch slowly comes to life with every color I add. I mostly used poster paint and white acrylic paint for the cherry blossoms.
I kind of like how it turned out. I made this in between my break from work, so I had a productive day all in all! ^^
I'll end this post for now because I have to sleep early for tomorrow's early morning jog! See you around! (^^,)/
