first of all trust the process, secondly don't use too much water, make sure the paper you're using is well dried or primed well with a good primer solution, and also watch videos on how to use water color, sometimes its not every where you apply the color just to get what you want, sometimes natural coors like the paper color works best for showing white. and just keep practicing
